New Horizon School - Los Angeles Campus
Our school is conveniently located at the Islamic
Center of Southern California on 4th and Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles.
We are close to downtown and Wilshire Blvd. We are a few blocks away from
Freeways 101, 10 and 5. New Horizon-Los Angeles Campus is specifically designed
to create the best possible environment for the growth and development of
preschool, kindergarten and elementary children. There are ample opportunities
for activities indoors and outdoors intended to develop large and small
motor skills while maintaining safety standards. Our school has a computer
lab and library for the children's use.
Our school's philosophy is based on the " Developmental Approach,"
which means teaching skills appropriate for the developmental age of each
child. Learning such skills is best accomplished in an active learning program
which promotes experimentation, exploration, and discovery. We believe academic
excellence is best achieved through critical thinking, problem solving,
direct instruction, and communication skills. Growth in social skills through
positive peer and adult interaction, with emphasis on Islamic values, will
help children develop self esteem, positive self image, and Islamic identity.
